Acadia mourns loss of student

September 8, 2011

It is with tremendous sorrow that Acadia University today confirms that our student, who had been critically ill since September 6, has died. Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences are extended to all family members and friends.

Acadia will continue to respect the family’s request that no other personal details be released.

“Our immediate concern is for our student’s family and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time. Although only on campus for a brief time, this student was a member of the Acadia family and established many friendships. This tragic accident is a reminder to all of us of how fragile life can be and how quickly future promise can be replaced by grief and sadness,” said Ray Ivany, Acadia’s President and Vice-Chancellor.

Support and counselling services for students will remain available.
