Alumnus delivers first pitch for Nova Scotia Day

Acadia alumnus Jim Prime (’69) of New Minas, known also as the Lieutenant Governor of Red Sox Nation in Nova Scotia and charter member of the Bluenose BoSox Brotherhood, was on the mound in front of 40,000 baseball fans July 5 in Boston to throw out the first pitch to commemorate Nova Scotia Day at Fenway Park. Hundreds of Nova Scotians and a good number of Acadia alumni were on hand and played important roles in pre-game and in-game ceremonies to accent our province’s long-standing ties with the team. All to the good, the Red Sox were winners on the night, nipping the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2. Joining Prime on the mound as part of the first-pitch team and showcasing the Bluenose BoSox Brotherhood banner are members Don Hyslop and Dave Ritcey (’83).
