WISE Works!

October 30, 2017

Location: Fountain Commons

WISE Acadia announces WISE Works! to be held on October 30, 2017 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Fountain Commons

Plan to support the second WISE Works! on October 30 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. This career-focused event will provide Acadia students with an opportunity to engage with female Acadia Alumni who are in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers. The event is open to all interested students regardless of their program of study, and we are thrilled that Erin Crandall from Women's and Gender Studies has been involved in the planning of WISE WORKS!

Our plenary speaker, Acadia Alum, Dr. Erin Hennessy (Wolfville Dentist and President of the Nova Scotia Dental Association), will be followed by the chance for Acadia students in attendance to talk ‘speed-meeting style’ with WISE Advisors representing a variety of careers (many who received Arts or Professional Studies degrees before moving into STEM fields). Since the event is taking place over the meal hour, pizza and beverages will be available.

All are invited to hear the plenary speaker and please use the link to the poster WISE Works!  to announce the event to students in classes or with groups you are involved with.

At this point in time, WISE Works! has received financial contributions from all of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science Units, the Deans of Arts, Professional Studies, and Pure and Applied Science, as well as the Associated Alumni of Acadia University. This is very much appreciated!

More details will soon be available on the WISE Acadia Facebook page and WISE website.
