Call for Volunteers: Be a Marshal at Convocation

One of the most rewarding and fun duties on campus during Convocation is marshalling. The role involves organising the graduands for the procession, ensuring they're in the right seating areas as the ceremony begins, and helping to line them up in Convocation Hall as they prepare to cross the stage. You get a wonderful chance to congratulate all the students with whom you've worked with or taught. It's a profound way to be reminded of what Acadia is really all about. Marshals meet briefly during the week before the convocation to get familiarised and well-versed with the task at hand.

To sign up as a volunteer (and to ensure you're recognised in the Convocation programme), email David Duke ( and confirm which ceremony(ies) you'd like to volunteer for. The deadline to do this is noon on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Regalia for Faculty and Staff
