African Heritage Month: The History of African Nova Scotia Sport Featuring Sergeant Craig Smith

Sergeant Craig Marshall Smith, M.O.M. (Member of the Order of Merit) is a Halifax, Nova Scotia-based writer, author, historian and a sergeant with the RCMP. Craig started his policing career in the Town of Yarmouth in March of 1997. Now in his 26th year, Craig has tried to infuse the tenets of community development within community policing.

Sergeant Smith is a former President of the Black Cultural Society of Nova Scotia and has written extensively on African Canadian history and achievement; several of his works have been adopted in the NS school curriculum.
