Public Event: Leadership and Trust in Canadian Politics

July 22, 2024 (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Location: K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre Auditorium

How can Canada’s political leaders be more authentic and trustworthy?

All are welcome to join us for a free, public event at Acadia University that explores this topic with people who have held important roles at the provincial and federal levels.

The event host and moderator is Alex Marland, Jarislowsky Chair in Trust & Political Leadership and Acadia politics professor. Alex will guide us through lively conversations involving:

  • Authenticity in Politics: A fireside chat with Bobbi Ann Brady (Independent MPP, Ontario)
  • Why Ethical Leadership Matters in Canadian Politics: A panel discussion with Ian Brodie (Conservative strategist & former chief of staff to PM Harper), Anne McLellan (former Deputy PM, minister & former Liberal MP), and Peggy Nash (labour activist and former NDP MP)
  • Q&A opportunities with audience and media
