Remembrance Day ceremony

November 11, 2021 (10:15 am)

Location: Convocation Hall

There will be an in-person Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11, 2021, in Convocation Hall. The ceremony will conducted jointly by the Dr. C. B. Lumsden MM Branch No. 74 Wolfville, Royal Canadian Legion, and Acadia University.

COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed, including proof of complete vaccination, masking, physical distancing, and registration at the door. Those planning to attend should arrive early and plan to be comfortably seated by 10:45 a.m. For health and safety reasons, some aspects of the traditional service have been modified and abridged.

This year, to limit crowding and to make the indoor ceremony safe and comfortable for our older friends and neighbours, those who are able are encouraged to participate in an outdoor act of remembrance attending the brief ceremonies at Acadia’s War Memorial cenotaph or the Town’s cenotaph on the lawn of the Office in Wolfville. A Legion Flag Party will lead a parade of those participating from the Acadia cenotaph along Main Street to the memorial at the Post Office. More details will follow.
