Tomorrow marks the start of Devour! The Food Film Festival, one of Wolfville’s signature events, and Acadia is ready to host the Opening Gala Reception, presented by Taste of Nova Scotia. Acadia has been a proud partner of Devour! since its beginning and is excited to officially welcome 12 Nova Scotian chefs to kick off the festival.

This year’s gala also features former White House Chef, Sam Kass, who will be curating the viewing of Jiro, Dreams of Sushi, Kass’s favourite food film.

For the next five days, Devour! will bring fans of film, food and wine together with workshops, food films and events such as celebrity chef film dinners, the traditional Devour! Chowder Smackdown and the annual Taste of Nova Scotia awards.

One of the festival’s greatest highlight this year will be a conversation with celebrity DJ and author, Questlove, a member of the band The Roots on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.Questlove, a self-proclaimed foodie and a culinary entrepreneur, will be discussing his book “Something to Food About” with CBC Host Ali Hassan in the Al Whittle Theatre, and will be signing copies of his book afterwards.

The Opening Gala Reception will run from 5:30 to 8:30 tomorrow in Fountain Commons.
