Acadia Names Darrell Youden, CA New Vice-President Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Wolfville, NS - Acadia University today announced that Darrell Youden, CA has been named the University's new Vice-President Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. His appointment is effective September 13, 2010.

"Darrell's extensive experience in both the public and private sectors will be of significant benefit to the entire Acadia community. Darrell's background managing change, his skills as a communicator and his financial management and reporting experience will help Acadia continue with its plans to increase its student enrolment, expand its research capacity and strengthen its reputation as one of Canada's leading liberal arts institutions."

Darrell B. Youden is a graduate of Dalhousie University and earned his CA designation in 1982. Since 2000, he has been the Senior Executive Director of Corporate Services for the Nova Scotia Department of Education. His work experience includes senior financial, operations and human resource management positions with the Halifax County - Bedford District School Board and Nova Scotia Housing and Consumer Affairs. Between 1979 and 1990, Mr. Youden was a senior manager with Grant Thornton, providing management consulting and client services.
