New scholarship rewards students.
An extra $1,000 for qualifying students.

BMO Bank of Montreal Senior Vice-President Atlantic Division Steve Murphy has launched BMO’s most recent financial support package for undergraduate students entering Acadia University. Mr. Murphy presented Acadia President and Vice-Chancellor Ray Ivany with the first of five $150,000 annual installments that will establish the BMO Financial Group Entrance Scholarships. The scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 and will be offered to student top academic performers entering full-time undergraduate study at Acadia.  These scholarships will be in addition to other awards for which students might qualify.

“We are grateful for the generous support we have received from BMO Financial Group,” said Mr. Ivany. “Business relationships that last one-hundred years or more are rare, but the benefits our students have received through our relationship with BMO are even rarer.  I want to thank the BMO Financial Group for its direct support for our students and for its ongoing support for Acadia and its institutional objectives. These entrance scholarships are symbolic of this great relationship and will reward incoming students for their academic achievements while making Acadia an even more competitive choice when students and their families are comparing the costs of earning a post-secondary education.”Steve Murphy, Bank of Montreal

“Acadia and the Bank of Montreal have enjoyed a partnership that has lasted for more than a century,” said Mr. Murphy. “BMO Financial Group is proud of this long term relationship and is well aware of the importance of earning a post-secondary degree in today’s economy and employment market. We’re pleased to be able to offer additional financial support to those students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic success and are ready to take the next step in their careers at Acadia. Attracting students is more competitive today than ever before, and we believe this investment will ensure Acadia is among those institutions young scholars consider.”

Students will automatically be considered for the BMO Financial Group Entrance Scholarships through the admission process.
