Remembrance Day Service

Every year, on Remembrance Day, Acadia University hosts the broader community as we remember those who sacrificed all for the cause of freedom. This service remembers members of our own student population, staff and faculty who lost their lives as well as members of the surrounding communities. It is a time for reflection and a re-commitment to the efforts for peace in our world. The service takes place at Convocation Hall beginning at 10:45am on November 11th. This year, 2018, marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Acadia’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Peter Ricketts, will observe Remembrance Day at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, China. Dr. Ricketts will be joined there by members of an international trade mission including Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil, King-Hants MP and President of the Treasury Board of Canada Scott Brison, and Finance Minister Bill Morneau. The delegation will be hosted by Canada’s Ambassador to China, The Honourable John McCallum.
