Startup Canada awards Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre Entrepreneur Support Award

Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre (AEC) was awarded the Entrepreneur Support Award in Fredericton last evening, presented by Startup Canada. AEC was recognized for supporting entrepreneurship through leadership, innovation and impact to rural entrepreneurs and small businesses in the Annapolis Valley and on the South Shore.

“We’re honoured to be recognized for our work here in the Annapolis Valley and on the South Shore where we’ve been supporting student and community entrepreneurs and small businesses for 30 years”, says Findlay MacRae, Executive Director of AEC.

“I am delighted with this award, which recognises Acadia’s long tradition of leadership in promoting and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in Nova Scotia. Congratulations to the AEC and our many community and regional partners whose combined efforts have made this award possible”, says Dr. Peter Ricketts, President of Acadia University.

AEC works with up to 260 clients annually and reaches an additional 2,000 through training and entrepreneurship awareness activities. It offers a range of business advisory and support services including: business planning, marketing, financial management, and stakeholder and community engagement.

AEC has been supporting entrepreneurs and businesses in the Annapolis Valley and on the South Shore for almost 30 years, providing business counselling, consulting and facilitation services for students, small and medium size businesses, social enterprises and non-profit organizations.
