The meaning and process of aging and the roles and statuses of the aged in a variety of modern and historical cultures. A comparison of social policies concerned with aging in different countries.

In this course, you'll explore the influence of ethnicity, national origin, and culture on individual and population aging.
Topics include:
- Social policies, programs, and services in different countries
- Roles older persons play in cultures around the world
- Demographic challenges from aging populations
You will build your understanding of both how old age is defined differently across cultures, and of the unique experiences of older immigrants to Canada.
