Dance Acadia Club

Dance Acadia is Acadia University's performance and competitive dance team. Showcasing some of Acadia's best dancers in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and ballet, we offer an intensive dance opportunity for experienced and dedicated dancers and perform in various events and competitions throughout the academic year. We practice multiple times weekly, host events, perform at sports games, and compete against other universities in the Maritimes, such as DAL, SMU, Mount A, StFX, and UNB.

Mission: To share the artistic sport of dance with the Acadia University community.

Goals: Dance Acadia works to promote the art of dancing to the university and local community. Through fundraisers throughout the year, we also manage to fund ourselves to attend competitions and costumes for our performances. We aim to create a fun and an intensive dance opportunity for highly trained and dedicated dancers at Acadia.

Acadia Women's Field Lacrosse Club

Women's field lacrosse is a growing sport across North America, it is a great way for girls to join together and build on their athleticism and skill. We accept anyone on the team (even if they have never played before or know nothing about the game). It is a great way for girls to take a break from studying, get some exercise, and learn a new skill. We make sure to do other things as a team as well; Joe's spaghetti night, movie nights, and going to help out with other teams in the Acadia Community. We are a very close team by the end of the season and everyone walks away with 23 new friends.

Mission: To expand the sport of women's field lacrosse in Nova Scotia, and engage more students in physical activity; promoting healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Goals: To promote healthy active living among women, in a sport that emphasizes control and skill.

Acadia Women's Hockey Club

Welcome to the web portal for the Acadia Axewomen’s Ice Hockey Team.

The Acadia Axewomen Ice Hockey Team is a club team that competes within the Nova Scotia Women’s Hockey League and also participates in tournament, exhibition and series play against other college and university club teams across the Maritimes. We play approximately 20 games a year and participate in the Acadia Challenge Cup against NSWHL teams. Our season runs from October to early March with tryouts in mid to late September. We have 2-3 practices a week and usually play one-two games a week.

If you are interested in joining the team or have any questions about Women's Ice Hockey, please feel free to contact the club president or the head coach.

The Acadia Axewomen are also very busy in the community, running hockey camps, volunteering their time to help run the Hannah Miller Tournament and working with young female hockey players from the local minor hockey associations.
