Events and Workshops

During the Fall and Winter terms, Accessible Learning Services facilitates numerous events and workshops designed to assist in your overall success at Acadia. Spaces are reserved for students registered with our services, but whenever room capacity allows we welcome all Acadia students to attend.

How to Sign Up

  1. Email Please include:
    • The session name and date/time
    • Your name and Acadia ID #
  2. You will receive a reminder about the session 24-48 hours in advance, as well as instructions on what to bring with you.

Upcoming Events

Self-Advocacy (9:30 am - 10:00 am)

Learn more about how to navigate appropriately advocating for yourself. This session will also include information self-disclosing information about your disability and how to navigate requests to for personal information you may not be comfortable sharing.

Presentation Skills (1:30 pm - 2:00 pm)

In this workshop you will learn about different presentation skills, such as creating a visual story, accessibility considerations, and when to summarize or expand on data.
