AUSOM Concert Series - Blue Engine Quartet

On Thursday, January 25, the Acadia University School of Music Concert & Lecture Series presents “Women of Note” – a recital by Blue Engine String Quartet.

Blue Engine String Quartet takes pride in creating exciting and varied programs that share in the representation of diversity in the performing arts. The quartet – comprised of four women with longstanding careers in music – aspires to be a strong role model to younger musicians and aims to show their solidarity in bringing an equilibrium to musical gender imbalance for the generations to come.   In “Women of Note”, the quartet will present a concert of beautiful and meaningful music, all written by women, as a testament to the importance woman have in this incredible art form. The program will include works by Jennifer Higdon, Rebecca Clarke, Lucie Vellère, Maddalena Laura Lombardini Sirmen and Germaine Tailleferre.

The concert will begin at 1:00pm in DENTON HALL AUDITORIUM.
