AUSOM Concert Series - Citizen Artistry

March 14, 2024 (1:00 pm)

Location: Denton Hall

On Thursday, March 14, the Acadia University School of Music Concert & Lecture Series presents “Citizen Artistry” – a lecture-recital by Profs. Nancy Dahn & Timothy Steeves (Duo Concertante).

Profs. Dahn and Steeves believe in the importance of the individual’s role in encouraging thought around issues of environmentalism and social justice. Their “citizen artistry” brings together music and matters that are important to them personally. By commissioning new works and creating outreach performances that address the climate emergency, physical disability, discrimination, mental illness, sexuality and marginalization, they create an effective platform for engagement while at the same time supporting artists and new creation. Join them as they discuss and give examples of their evolution as citizen artists.

This event begins at 1:00pm in DENTON HALL AUDITORIUM.

Concert & Lecture Series Events are free and open to the public – please join us!
