Lunchtime Chat with Dr. Késa Munroe-Anderson and Prof. Martin Morrison

March 21, 2024 (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm)

Location: Quiet Reading Room

Working towards the elimination of racial discrimination, particularly anti-Black racism, begins with how we think about Black people and our interactions with one another.  The demonstration in Sharpville, South Africa in 1960 was all about solidarity, and interconnectedness in the fight to end apartheid pass laws. Black people were showing love for ourselves in the face of the hatred of apartheid when 69 of us were killed.

It is important that we carve out spaces to talk about Africentric love and how it is centred as a valued way of life for African Nova Scotians, on the continent, and throughout the diaspora.
