Students promote spirit of reconciliation

A group of #AcadiaU Education students and members of the Indigenous Student Society of Acadia (ISSA) honoured Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters at an information booth in the Beveridge Arts Centre on Friday, September 30, 2016 to raise awareness and begin a dialogue surrounding the residential schools in Canada in the spirit of reconciliation. Some of the proceeds from the sale of the orange T-shirts proclaiming 'Every Child Matters' will be put toward Indigenous Student Society of Acadia activities. The effort was part of the Teaching and Learning for Activism course in the School of Education. Pictured, from left to right, are: Adam Salsman (BEd ’17), Emily Stone (BEd ’17) and Maddison Kinney (Soc ’17).
