Employee Update - New President's Holiday this July 2

Dear Colleagues,

Sometimes we all need a break, and this year, we need it more than ever.

As you know, Acadia University will close on July 1 for Canada Day. Today, I am announcing the University will remain closed on Friday, July 2, 2021, to provide employees with a four-day long weekend.

The President's July holiday is available to all employees. If you've already booked July 2 as a holiday, a day will return to your vacation bank. However, anyone required to work to maintain essential services and operations on July 2 will be able to take a different date off in lieu. Your supervisor can provide more detail about how the July 2 holiday will apply to you.

I hope you will enjoy having a long weekend to relax and wind down. I sincerely appreciate everything you have done to help Acadia get through this period of crisis. This additional holiday is just a small way to show my appreciation and offer my thanks.

Stay safe and enjoy the upcoming break,

Peter
