Acadia Opens Doors to Student Prospects

More than 200 high school students and their families are expected to converge on Acadia University’s campus this Friday for Experience Acadia Day 2011.

Participants will meet Acadia’s president and academic deans, attend mini-lectures, visit residence and academic buildings, learn about opportunities on campus and how to finance an education, and even dine in meal hall. On-the-spot admissions and course registration will also be offered.

The highlight of social activities that day with be a campus Amazing Race Challenge where students will be grouped in teams and compete for IPod shuffles.

“Making the decision to attend a university can be a difficult process,” says Leigh-Ann Murphy, manager of Student Recruitment. “At Acadia, we like to make it simple and straightforward. Attending an information session lets students and their families not only understand what Acadia can offer, but how they can make a smooth transition and embark on the next step in their education.”

Located in the Acadia Festival Theatre Building on Main Street, Wolfville, Experience Acadia
Day 2011 begins at 9:30 am Friday morning with a formal welcome. Registration is recommended, but walk-ins are also welcome.
