RSVP Instructions for Faculty and Staff

If you would like to attend in person, please RSVP by emailing convocation@acadiau.ca and include the ceremony(ies) you would like to attend by Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Please advise if you have any accessibility requirements, and we will be happy to accommodate.

Call for Volunteers: Be a Marshal at Convocation

One of the most rewarding and fun duties on campus during Convocation is marshalling. The role involves organising the graduands for the procession, ensuring they're in the right seating areas as the ceremony begins, and helping to line them up in Convocation Hall as they prepare to cross the stage. You get a wonderful chance to congratulate all the students with whom you've worked with or taught. It's a profound way to be reminded of what Acadia is really all about. Marshals meet briefly during the week before the convocation to get familiarised and well-versed with the task at hand.

To sign up as a volunteer (and to ensure you're recognised in the Convocation programme), email David Duke (david.duke@acadiau.ca) and confirm which ceremony(ies) you'd like to volunteer for. The deadline to do this is noon on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Regalia for Faculty and Staff

Convocation participants who are hoping to borrow a gown can contact Cathy MacDonald, EA to the VP Academic, at cathy.d.macdonald@acadiau.ca. The sooner you reserve your regalia, the better!

Please refer back to this space for additional updates as Convocation draws closer. Details for students who are expecting to graduate this year can be found on the Convocation web pages for Acadia's Class of 2024.
