ISO: Homestay Hosts for International EAP Students

This fall, the Acadia University English Language Centre is excited to welcome a new group of international students eager to immerse themselves in language and culture. We are currently seeking warm and welcoming families to join our Homestay Program and host these students during their time in Wolfville.

Our international students typically stay with host families for a period of three to ten months, with arrival times varying throughout the year. This flexibility allows you to choose a hosting duration that best suits your schedule. We welcome hosts from all walks of life—whether you are single, a couple, retired, or part of a young family, your home could be the perfect place for an international student to experience Canadian culture. Every family situation is unique, and our program values the diversity and warmth that each host brings.

Hosting an international student is a unique opportunity to share your home, learn about different cultures, assist with language learning, and make a positive impact on a young person's life. Our hosts often find that the experience enriches their own lives as much as it does the students'.

If you are interested in opening your home to a student, or if you know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you. The commitment can be flexible to suit your schedule, and we offer a monthly stipend to help cover expenses.

Please email elc@acadiau.ca for more information or to discuss any questions you may have. We greatly appreciate your consideration and look forward to possibly working together to create a memorable experience for our international students!
