Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO) and on 585 phone system voicemail. SSHRC 2025 Storytellers Challenge

SSHRC’s Storytellers Challenge asks postsecondary students to demonstrate in up to three minutes or 300 words, how Canadian social sciences and humanities research is impacting our lives, our world and our future for the better. The Top 20 finalists receive $3,000 and the subsequent Final 5 winners each receive an additional $1,000.

Tell us about the social sciences and humanities research at your institution to be among the Top 20 finalists who will each receive $3,000. Finalists then compete to earn a spot as a Final 5 winner.

Let your creativity shine through! Submit a song, poem, infographic, short essay, video or audio clip—the choice is yours. For inspiration, read about Acadia's most recent SSHRC Storytellers Challenge finalist, Diane Grant.
