ACADIA ALERT - Delayed Campus Opening (Weather)

Acadia University will delay opening campus on Monday, December 08, 2025 until 12:00 noon. All morning exams will be rescheduled to a later date and afternoon and evening exams will continue as scheduled. Conditions on campus will be assessed throughout the morning and if there is a need to remain closed a follow up message will be sent.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus until it opens. Residences will be accessible, and Wheelock Dining Hall will be open.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO). If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by calling 902-585-1103.

Admissions

Transfer Students

Acadia welcomes students from other universities who are interested in transferring to Acadia or in taking select courses here. Acadia’s small town environment, student research opportunities, and strong student-faculty interaction may offer the right fit for you.

  • $40 CDN application processing fee
  • All official mid-year or final university transcripts

Letter of Permission

If you would like to take one or more courses at Acadia while you continue to attend your home university, you will need a Letter of Permission. Complete our application form and have your university’s Registrar send us a letter of permission and an official transcript. The letter of permission establishes that your home university will recognize the credits that you plan to earn at Acadia.

Transferring to Acadia

If you would like to transfer to Acadia and earn your degree here, please complete the admission application and ask your current university to send us your transcript for evaluation.

Transfer credits will normally be given for individual courses which are applicable to your intended undergraduate degree program of study. Courses must have a minimum grade of C- to be eligible for transfer credit.

Most of our programs require you to have a 2.0 GPA. The following programs require a 2.5 GPA:

  • Biology
  • Business Administration
  • Computer Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Kinesiology
  • Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Community Development
  • Applied Science (Engineering)
