Acadia Alumni Book Club to feature Throw Down Your Shadows by Deborah Hemming

Deborah Hemming is the next featured author in the Acadia Alumni Book Series.

She has written two novels: Goddess and Throw Down Your Shadows, which was shortlisted for the 2021 ReLit Novel Award.

She studied English at McGill University and the University of King's College, and Information Studies at Dalhousie University.​

Deborah lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, with her partner and son. She is also an academic librarian.

 

Participants are encouraged to get a copy of Throw Down Your Shadows, and join in the conversation with Deborah on June 12, 7-8 p.m. at our next virtual Book Club meeting.

We look forward to seeing you, and please keep in mind: Book Club members do not have to be Acadia affiliates, and the Club is open to everyone. You can register anytime and participate in the session of your choice.

So far, we’ve looked at Senator Donald Oliver’s (’60, ’07 HON) highly anticipated autobiography, A Matter of Equality: The Life’s Work of Senator Don Oliver; Jim Prime’s ('69, '71) and Ben Robicheau's fictional comedy, Fish and Dicks: Case Files from the Digby Neck and Islands Fish-Gutting Service and Detective Agency; Two Crows Sorrow, a work of creative fiction by Laura Churchill Duke (’98); and Peter Cleveland's ('72) Double Shot of Scotch.
