Mitch Maracle (’22), a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, was named on June 15, 2022 as one of only 20 recipients from a pool of close to 800 of the $10,000 per year (for up to four years) RBC Indigenous Youth Scholarship.

Check it! Seventeen Acadia alumni joined Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06) on June 8, 2022 at the Vu Resto and Bar in St. John’s, NL for a delightful evening of fun and friendship.

It was a lovely evening on June 8, 2022 when alumni in the Boston area were warmly welcomed by host, Consul General of Canada to New England, Mr. Rodger Cuzner, at a Nova Scotia Universities alumni reception in Wellesley, MA.

Winners in the 2022 Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) Prix d’Excellence competition were announced June 1-2, and the fall 2021 edition of Acadia’s digital alumni magazine, the Bulletin, captured bronze in the highly competitive ‘Best Publication (print or online)’ category.

It was a great night on May 26, 2022 when approximately 30 Acadia alumni – including hosts Nancy Handrigan (’92), Vice-President, Advancement (Interim), and Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06), Executive Director, Alumni Affairs – gathered at Grace O’Malley’s in Toronto for a delightful in-person meet and greet event.

There has been a lot of change in the last couple of years, and with change come new ideas and tremendous opportunity for growth. The pandemic has informed how staff connect and engage with alumni and, in response to recent consultation with and feedback from constituents, the Alumni Office has reimagined what reunion gatherings will look like.
