Winners have been announced in the 37th Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition, and Acadia’s Office of Advancement has earned top honours in multiple categories.
Dr. Trevor Jain (’93) is an avid lifelong learner whose curiosity and passion for knowledge has allowed him to forge an enviable career as a trauma physician and disaster medicine specialist. The Acadia Alumni Association applauds his remarkable commitment to public service and is pleased to add another accolade by naming Dr. Jain as its 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
A beautiful and touching tribute by Acadia honorary degree recipient and poet laureate Dr. George Elliott Clarke ('12 HON) on the recent passing of fellow Acadia honorary degree recipient, Alex McDonough ('12 HON).
Black history shouldn’t be celebrated for only one month. Black history matters, and Black history is our history. Acadia grad Véronique Russell (’16) celebrates four resilient, empowered members of Acadia’s Black community as part of African Heritage Month.
Happy Holidays to one and all! We asked: what makes the season so memorable? Here’s what our Advancement team had to say.
Sometimes learning happens 20 feet up a ladder, 30 minutes from campus with a 40-pound wooden box in one hand and a drill in the other. That’s where Zack Pate is on a fall afternoon: installing a bat box in Hall’s Harbour for the Annapolis Valley Bat Box Project. Launched in 2020 with fellow Acadia student Taryn Muldoon, the project is helping to house the tiny, flying mammals and collect data in partnership with a military biologist and university researchers, volunteers, the Canada Conservation Corps, high school teachers and students.
