It was an unforgettable evening celebrating the incredible Acadia University community at the 2026 Acadia Alumni Awards in Wolfville on April 24, 2026.

Festival Theatre was beautifully transformed into a red-carpet venue, with guests travelling from near and far to attend the event, and to celebrate the very best of Acadia.

D’Amato and Tracy Bennett, who recently produced a 36-episode series called Wild Nova Scotia together, wanted to explore Nova Scotia’s birds in more depth.

The result was Bird Country, a new documentary screening in Wolfville at 7 pm on April 1 at the Al Whittle Theatre as part of the ACC Film Series.

The Acadia energy was alive and well in the west of Canada recently as Executive Director, Oonagh Proudfoot (’93, ’06), hit the road to visit with community and attend the U SPORTS Men’s Basketball Final 8 in Calgary with a quick pit stop in Edmonton.

One minute, you’re a kid being asked what you want to be when you grow up: you’re free to imagine and dream big, with no strings attached. The next, you’re filling out university applications, double-checking prerequisites, and feeling like what you choose next will set your life’s path in motion. No pressure, right?
