Alumni enjoy delightful presentation at Florida Luncheon
Twenty-five Acadia alumni and friends gathered on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Rosedale Golf and Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Florida to receive an update from Vice-President, Advancement, Dr. Rod Morrison on our historic Campaign for Acadia and to hear special guest, Dean of Science, Dr. Suzie Currie (’91). Dr. Currie delivered an interesting lecture entitled, “Fish that live in trees?”, which focused on an area of her research. Who knew that Mangrove Rivulus, a self-propagating hermaphroditic fish, is tolerant of climate change and can breathe both in and out of water? Amazing stuff, for sure, and many thanks to Suzie for a delightful and engaging talk. We had a wonderful time, and look forward to seeing our many friends in Florida at next year’s luncheon!
