Thanks to the efforts of a terrific group of volunteers in Ottawa, Acadia alumni spanning seven decades of graduation years, along with friends and family, had a great time at the all new ‘Umbrella Bar’ at Dows Lake Pavilion in Ottawa on Friday, May 31, 2019 during our annual Lobster Picnic in the City. More than 70 guests enjoyed succulent seaside lobster fresh from the Maritimes or striploin steak and all the fixins. Executive Director, Alumni Affairs Ian Murray (’88) hosted the event and welcomed special guests Acadia Chancellor, Bruce Galloway (’68,’03), His Excellency Mr. Alvin Smith, High Commissioner to Canada from the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and Mr. Donald Saunders, M.P., Deputy Speaker of the Bahamian House of Assembly. Ian provided updates from the University and news from Acadia’s historic Campaign for Acadia.
