Acadia alumna Shelley Fleckenstein (’85, née Potter) poses with Acadia University Chaplain Rev. Tim McFarland (’92) in front of a recently purchased Samick upright piano in the Manning Memorial Chapel on the Wolfville campus. The purchase was made possible by a donation from Fleckenstein, who dedicated the gift to her parents, Shirley Margeson Skinner (’51, née Prosser) and Lenley Roscoe Potter (’52).  Fleckenstein cited three reasons for the donation: the Chapel was built the year she was born and is on the cusp of its 50th anniversary; she received a Manning scholarship during her time at Acadia; and she married Dr. Martin Fleckenstein in the Manning Memorial Chapel in 1999. Some of the proceeds from the sale of shares in her company, Kings Physiotherapy Clinic, enabled Fleckenstein to make the donation, though she continues to serve as Director and hold shares in the organization. The piano was owned previously by Christianne Rushton (’98), Assistant Professor and head of vocal studies in Acadia’s School of Music, and is a welcome addition to the Manning Memorial Chapel.
