Acadia University celebrated its 179^th anniversary on November 15, 2017 during Founders’ Day on the Wolfville, Nova Scotia campus. Faculty, staff, students and alumni shared in the occasion, which took place in the newly-renovated Axe Lounge in honour of the 50^th anniversary of the incorporation of the Acadia Students’ Union. Guests enjoyed a bowl of hot chowder, coffee, tea and treats from noon to 1:30 p.m. Words of welcome were offered by (pictured, left to right) Executive Director of Alumni Affairs Ian Murray (’88), Students’ Union president Grace Hamilton-Burge, and University Chaplain, the Reverend Tim McFarland (’92).
