Approximately 100 Acadia alumni and friends gathered in Ottawa on November 28, 2016 for the sixth Annual Alumni Social on the Hill. A number of special guests attended, including Chancellor Libby Burnham (’60), Senator Kelvin Ogilvie (’63), Vice-President of Advancement Dr. Rod Morrison, Acadia parent and Speaker of the House of Commons Geoff Regan, MP for Halifax West, and Kings-Hants MP and President of the Treasury Board Scott Brison. The Associated Alumni of Acadia University also presented its 2017 Young Alumni Award to Leslie Lewis (’10), who was honoured for her outstanding contributions to the investment community and strong commitment to volunteerism, hunger and mental health issues.
