December 6th: Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women
Every year the Women’s and Gender Studies Program hosts an event for the Dec. 6th National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day was established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada to mark the anniversary of the 14 engineering students at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal who were targeted and murdered in 1989 because they were women. December 6th is a day to reflect on and take action to end gender-based violence.
All are welcome.
