Acadia International Mentor Program
The Acadia International Mentor Program is a volunteer peer-mentor program to support first-year international students at Acadia as they transition to university life in Canada.
As a student in the program, you'll be part of a group with other new international students in a similar field of study. Your group will be mentored by upper-year international and/or Canadian students who will provide advice and information about life at Acadia and in Wolfville. The Mentors will provide ongoing support throughout your first year at Acadia, including during orientation and at least two social events each semester.
If you are interested in being paired with a mentor, you are required to apply to the program, as space is limited. Applications normally open in June, and you can check this page often for the application form. We will also notify you by email when applications are available.
PROGRAM GOALS
- Welcome new international students to the Acadia University community
- Provide peer advice about adapting to Wolfville and Acadia University life
- Build connections among newly-arrived students and current Acadia students
- Promote cross-cultural communication and learning
