Acadia Women's Field Hockey Club

Formed by students in 2002, the Acadia Women's Field Hockey Club is now part of a 6 team university league, along with Dalhousie, SMU, St. FX, UNB & UPEI. The Acadia Women's Field Hockey team provides female students with the opportunity to accomplish their athletic goals while creating meaningful social connections with their Acadia community. With plans to significantly increase visibility and community affairs, we want to grow the sport of field hockey in the Acadia community and Valley Region.

Mission: The mission of the Acadia Women's Field Hockey Team is to provide opportunity for all female students to participate in the sport of field hockey at a competitive level.

Goals:

• To provide opportunity, regardless of experience or skill level, to play field hockey in a structured environment.
• To advance the sport of field hockey in the community through meaningful engagement.

Acadia Women's Field Lacrosse Club

Women's field lacrosse is a growing sport across North America, it is a great way for girls to join together and build on their athleticism and skill. We accept anyone on the team (even if they have never played before or know nothing about the game). It is a great way for girls to take a break from studying, get some exercise, and learn a new skill. We make sure to do other things as a team as well; Joe's spaghetti night, movie nights, and going to help out with other teams in the Acadia Community. We are a very close team by the end of the season and everyone walks away with 23 new friends.

Mission: To expand the sport of women's field lacrosse in Nova Scotia, and engage more students in physical activity; promoting healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Goals: To promote healthy active living among women, in a sport that emphasizes control and skill.

Acadia Ringette Club

Mission: Acadia Ringette wishes to provide all people within the student body the opportunity to participate in ringette at a competitive level.

Goals:

• Create a fun environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
• Participate in tournaments and games against other universities.

Acadia Ultimate Frisbee Club

Acadia University Ultimate offers safe and fun environment for students who want to play sports and are competitive but do not want to compete on high performance level.

Mission: To educate, and improve the Acadia University students' ultimate Frisbee experience in an inclusive and safe environment.

Goals: To create a dedicated Ultimate Frisbee Club Sport Team at Acadia University.

Acadia Women's Rugby Club

The Acadia Women's Rugby Club is an opportunity for students to play rugby, and be involved in another great community to enhance their student life.

Mission: To provide a safe and positive environment for new and returning players to play rugby while developing and having fun.

Goals:

• To provide a safe and positive environment that is still competitive.
• To provide an opportunity for Rugby players to continue playing at a non-varsity level.
• To learn and have fun!
