Acadia University supports its Bahamian students through new fund

To all of our Acadia friends and alumni family in The Bahamas:

We are acutely aware of the catastrophe in the northern Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, and wish to stand in solidarity with you as you work to recover from its devastating impact. The Bahamas is home to more than 140 of our students and we know that their Acadia roots, and yours as members of our alumni family, are strong, meaningful and deeply entrenched.

I am proud to share word with you that Acadia’s President, Dr. Peter Ricketts, has announced a wide-ranging support strategy that we believe will provide some relief by establishing a Bahamian Student Fund. The announcement is noted below, detailing what it’s all about and how it will benefit Bahamian students impacted by the storm, and their families.

I encourage you to have a look, and wish you all continued strength, support and resilience in the coming days. This message will be communicated broadly with all alumni around the world in an effort to garner support for Bahamian students at Acadia University.
