Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current campus and travel conditions. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled.

Business Analytics Modeling

An introduction to the use of mathematical modeling to support managerial decision making. Modeling techniques covered include linear programming, regression analysis, time series forecasting and simulation. Spreadsheet software is used as the analytic platform for developing models.

This course will build your ability to analyze quantitative information using mathematical modeling techniques to support decision making. You'll use Microsoft Excel as the analytical tool/platform to formulate and solve problems.

Topics include:

  • Linear programming
  • Predictive modeling using regression analysis
  • Time series forecasting techniques

Throughout the course, an emphasis will be placed on applying these techniques to business problems such as investment analysis, transportation scheduling, inventory management, and market analysis.
