Intermediate French 1
Fren 1213 and 1223 are the first year university courses normally taken by students who have completed Grade 11 or Grade 12 High School French. Basic grammar is reviewed and while effective communication, both oral and written, is stressed, students will be examined primarily on their written expression.

Prerequisites: FRAN 1123, or NS Grade 11 or 12 French (or equivalent), or an appropriate score on the free, online Placement Test.

This course focuses on improving your ability to express yourself accurately. You'll build your comprehension and skills through course modules based around everyday life, such as shopping and eating, education, and the media.
Topics include:
- Accurately expressing and describing situations, ideas, and daily life
- Asking and answering basic and more complicated questions
- Speaking and comprehension
In addition to traditional reading materials and assignments, you'll learn through audio files and a speaking assignment.
