Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement and its role in our lives.

Find what moves you

A varsity athlete lays on a therapy table while three Kinesiology students take notes, assess a leg injury, and speak to him.

Kinesiology at Acadia is all about movement, energy, and the science of what makes us tick. From anatomy and physiology to biomechanics, psychology, and the social side of sport, you’ll explore how human movement shapes health, performance, and quality of life. Our program is accredited by the Canadian Council of University Physical Education and Kinesiology Administrators (CCUPEKA), ensuring your degree meets the highest national standards.

You’ll benefit from small classes, hands-on labs, and professors who know your name, plus a balance of theory and practice that brings your learning to life. To complement your degree, you can apply to specialized options in Exercise Science and Training, Athletic Therapy, Psychology, Biology, or Nutrition. Within the program itself, you’ll have opportunities to focus on areas such as Health Promotion, Wellness and Health Behaviour Change, Adapted Physical Activity, or Teaching, Leadership and Coaching.

Whatever your goals and plans for the future—improving lives through health promotion, leading in athletics, or preparing for advanced study—Acadia’s Kinesiology program gives you the tools to move yourself forward.
