Pride month is a time of celebration, human connection, and remembrance of queer voices that continue to fight for justice and equality. It is also a time to act.

It's important that we help to amplify the many efforts of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and organizations locally and regionally.

The Registrar's Office has incorporated the collective feedback and experiences of Acadia students, faculty, and staff and adjusted the 2024 Fall course registration dates to the end of May. This registration period previously took place in late March.

Dear students, faculty, and staff,

We invite all students, faculty, and staff to join us today, September 20, for a student-led countermarch promoting inclusivity, unity, and social justice on our campus. Organized by Acadia Pride and supported by the Acadia Students' Union, this march reflects our commitment to inclusion and equity.

This event is in response to groups nationwide, including here in Nova Scotia, advocating for harmful legislation targeting Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender diverse youth and students in schools. Participating in this event can show your support for a more inclusive and accepting community.

If you can, please join the student-led march today!

Acadia University stands in solidarity with our colleagues at the University of Waterloo and condemns gender-based violence and all other forms of hatred and bigotry.

In the wake of the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week, we have witnessed tragic images of devastation and loss of life on an unimaginable scale. We would like to express our most sincere sympathy and concern for all of those affected around the world, and particularly for the students, staff and faculty within the Acadia community who have been impacted. The sheer magnitude of this tragedy is heartbreaking, and we want you all to know that we are here for you to help you cope with your grief.

At 1:08 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, Acadia University issued a security alert to the campus community regarding a police incident in Cutten House involving reports of a non-student visitor flashing a gun.

There were no injuries and there is no known threat at this time. The University is grateful to staff and first responders who managed the incident swiftly.
