With education costs on the rise, enhancing student assistance is a top priority for Acadia. Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.
As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. Award of up to $2,500 | Eligibility: Arts, Pure and Applied Science, Economics, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan
The Roland & Leona Mullen Business Award is awarded annually on a renewable basis to a student entering the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program or the Bachelor of Arts degree program with a major in Economics. Preference will be given to a student from Western Canada (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia) who demonstrates financial need; a commitment to entrepreneurship, community service and athletics.
The Award has been established by Kevin Mullen (B.A., Acadia, 1986) in recognition of his parents, Roland and Leona Mullen, entrepreneurs who own a Western Canadian family business. Kevin believes a student who demonstrates the qualities of entrepreneurship, community service and a commitment to athletics will represent the ideals valued by his parents and would like to ensure that students with these qualities continue to be represented at Acadia University.
10 Awards are available for 2017-18.

The Roland and Leona Mullen Entrance Awards are awarded on a renewable basis to sixteen students who are entering an undergraduate degree program. Preference will be given to students from Western Canada (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia) who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to community service, athletics and entrepreneurship.
The awards have been established by Kevin Mullen (BA, Acadia, 1986) in recognition of his parents, Roland and Leona Mullen, who started and grew a successful Western Canada business based on these values along with fairness and a strong work ethic. The Mullen family would like to ensure that students with the above noted qualities continue to be represented at Acadia University.
