Scholarships & Financial Assistance


With education costs on the rise, enhancing student assistance is a top priority for Acadia. Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.

As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. By supporting scholarships and financial assistance, you can help to ensure access to all of the rewards of an Acadia education.

University Entrance Scholarships valued at $3500 each ($875 annually for up to four years) are awarded each year

Florence B. Mosher Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship | Eligibility: Arts, Entering first year

The Florence B. Mosher Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to one or more entering student(s) studying in the Faculty of Arts.

This award was established in 2009, by the late Dr. Marial Mosher in memory of her mother, Florence (Larder) Mosher.

Frank J. Humphrey Scholarship

Scholarship | Eligibility: Entering first year, New Brunswick

The Frank J. Humphrey Scholarship of $1280 ($320 a year for up to four years) was endowed by the late Mr. F. J. Humphrey of New York City.

Frank V. and Zella Parlee Anthony Memorial Scholarships

Scholarship | Eligibility: Entering first year, International student

The Frank V. and Zella Parlee Anthony Memorial Scholarships (2) of $1335 each are provided through the generosity of the Canadian Club of Boston of which Mr. Anthony once served as President. He graduated Bachelor of Science in 1923, and his wife, Zella, Bachelor of Arts in 1922. Mr. Anthony was an eminently successful businessman in Windsor, Nova Scotia, and later in Massachusetts where he provided long and dedicated service to Acadia. The scholarships are awarded annually either as entrance or in course awards with strong preference given to citizens of the United States.

Franklyn Bovyer Scholarship

Scholarship | Eligibility: Entering first year, Prince Edward Island

The Franklyn Bovyer Scholarship of $340 annually, endowed by the late Mr. Franklyn Bovyer of Bunbury, Prince Edward Island, is to be awarded to a qualified entrant.

Fred C. Manning Scholarships

Scholarship | Eligibility: Entering first year

The Fred C. Manning Scholarships. Renewable entrance scholarships of $2500 (3), $1500 (6), $1000 (2) and $500 (1) and non renewable scholarships of $500 (50) are awarded annually in memory of Mr. Fred C. Manning (1891 1959), industrialist, public benefactor and eminent Nova Scotian. They are made possible by his generous provision of funds to Acadia University.
