Award | Eligibility: Athletics, Pure and Applied Science, Geology
The Ron and Cyndi Butler Award will be awarded annually on recommendation of the Director of Varsity Athletics to a varsity athlete who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. Preference will be given to a student-athlete majoring in Geology.
The award was established in 2008 in memory of Ron Butler (BSC, Acadia, 1962) and Cyndi Butler by their son Craig Butler (BA, Acadia, 1991). While at Acadia Ron studied Geology and was a member of the Varsity Football Team.
Scholarship of up to $1,895 | Eligibility: Pure and Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Current 1st year, Current 2nd year, Current 3rd year, Current 4th year
This scholarship was established by the late Roy A. Jodrey (D.C.L. Acadia, '63) of Hantsport, Nova Scotia, to be awarded annually to a student entering the junior or senior year of a Bachelor of Science program in biology, chemistry, geology or physics.
Scholarship of up to $1,050 | Eligibility: Pure and Applied Science, Geology, Current 3rd year
The Rupert H. MacNeill Memorial Scholarships in Geology were provided by friends and colleagues of Professor MacNeill and are awarded to third year geology majors whose interests provide a strong field work orientation to their programs. Professor MacNeill (B.Sc., M.Sc. Acadia, '50, '51) was a faculty member in the Acadia Geology Department from 1951 to 1983.
