With education costs on the rise, enhancing student assistance is a top priority for Acadia. Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.
As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. By supporting scholarships and financial assistance, you can help to ensure access to all of the rewards of an Acadia education.

Established in 2021 by former football alumni of the Jeff Cummins era that played with or were coached by Steve. To be awarded annually to men’s varsity football incoming athlete(s) to be chosen by the Head Coach of the men's varsity football program in consultation with the Director of Athletics.
During his time at Acadia, Steve made a tremendous impact on the lives of his teammates, players and those in the university and the Wolfville community. A natural born leader with a "larger than life" personality and a huge heart, he was always there to lend a helping hand. As an athlete, he was one of top defensive players for the Axemen being named the Atlantic University Sport Defensive Player of the Year in his final two seasons, a three-time AUS All-Star and setting a school record of 200 tackles (since broken). Steve was also a team captain and won two AUS Championships, was named as a CIS All-Canadian linebacker in 2006 and subsequently played professionally in the CFL and Europe. His positive impacts on others were however far greater, he made us all better and he will always be by our side.
