Scholarships & Financial Assistance


With education costs on the rise, enhancing student assistance is a top priority for Acadia. Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.

As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. Connie MacNeil Athletics Awards

The Connie MacNeil Athletics Awards are awarded annually to two students on a varsity athletics team at Acadia University. The awards are on recommendation of the Director of Varsity Athletics.

The endowed award was established in 2007 by The John and Judy Bragg Family Foundation, in consultation with the MacNeil Family, to honour Mr. Conrad (Connie) MacNeil (BA Acadia 1952; BED Acadia 1953) who was one of John Bragg's teachers at Oxford Regional High School. Connie was a proud Acadia Axeman hockey player from 1949 - 1953. Since returning to the Wolfville area in 1964, Connie has been closely involved with Acadia as a part-time staff member, Alumni board member (2001-2003) and was the founding chairman of the Acadia Blueline Club.
