Scholarships & Financial Assistance
With education costs on the rise, enhancing student assistance is a top priority for Acadia. Each year, we award more than $4 million to students in the form of scholarships, scholar-bursaries, bursaries, awards, and prizes. By maintaining a strong scholarship and financial assistance program, we are able to attract, retain and support our students.
As a donor to scholarships and financial assistance, you can direct your gift toward: general award funds or awards for specific departments, faculties, research, or athletic teams; any existing named awards; or you can create a personal legacy by establishing a named award yourself. 1971 Men's Basketball Award

Established in 2020 by members and friends of the ’71 Acadia Men’s Basketball Team. The recipient demonstrates leadership qualities on the team, in the classroom and in the community. The recipient shall be in good academic standing and be recommended by the Head Coach in consultation with the Director of Varsity Athletics.
The ’71 Men’s Basketball Award celebrates Acadia’s Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union men`s basketball championship in 1971. The Axemen defeated the University of Manitoba at War Memorial Gymnasium for the program’s second national title. The award is in memory of Nancy Logue (`59), beloved wife of Dr. Jim Logue who was an assistant coach with the men’s program. Nancy was a multi-sport athlete and is a member of the Acadia Sports Hall of Fame. Also included in this award is a special donation in memory of Sean Casey ’73 who joined the basketball Axemen in 1972 and was a member of the CIAU runner-up that season.
