Dear Acadia University Community,

Welcome to Acadia University! As an alumnus and former faculty member, I am grateful and excited to return to the institution that has played an integral role in shaping my professional and personal journey.

Having served as the Director of the School of Music and Dean of Arts at Acadia, I have witnessed firsthand how the harmonious coexistence among students, faculty, staff, and community members unlocks a world of possibilities. My commitment to you is to listen attentively, build trust, and create momentum to enhance the inclusive and welcoming experience that defines our esteemed university.

Acadia’s rich tapestry interweaves academic excellence with diverse cultural backgrounds from across Canada and over 60 countries. We pride ourselves in fostering an environment where every student can flourish inside the classroom and beyond. The idyllic town of Wolfville supports this vibrant community with a warm embrace that makes Acadia a true 'home away from home.'

In my role, I vow to uphold our longstanding tradition of empowering students through an engaging liberal arts education, equipping them for a rapidly changing world. As a musician and an academic, I find true harmony in collaboration—a belief I passionately embrace in every aspect of my work.

Let's celebrate our shared passion for learning in this exceptional environment. May we continue nurturing creativity, curiosity, and innovation and ultimately positively contribute locally and globally to society.

Welcome once again to Acadia University – a place like nowhere else.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Jeff Hennessy (he/him/his)
