Accessible Learning Services

Prospective Students

It is important to us to provide evidence-based support and resources to all of our students. While all students may not be eligible for accommodations or identify with having a disability, Acadia has many different programs available to support student success.

If you are unsure whether you require accommodations or if our services are for you, please contact us at accessible.learning@acadiau.ca and we can direct you to the appropriate resource

Students complete a three step process to be approved for academic accommodations. Need information about what is offered? Click here to learn about Student Accommodations.

To receive accommodations, you must complete the intake process with Accessible Learning Services and provide documentation which clearly identifies the disability related impacts on your education.

We recommend doing so prior to the start of your first term, or as soon as a barrier is identified. If you're unsure whether you require accommodations, email your questions to accessible.learning@acadiau.ca

Step 2: Schedule Intake Appointment

Within 3 business days of submitting your Accommodation Request, you will receive an email to your Acadia Account with instructions to schedule your intake meeting.

If you were unable to include documentation with the Accommodation Request, whenever possible, we ask that you provide it before your intake meeting. Your documentation can be submitted directly to Accessible Learning Services in the upload area of via Accommodate. Alternatively, documentation can be emailed to us at accessible.learning@acadiau.ca or dropped off in person at our office.
